Kid-Friendly Long Island Wineries

Long Island wine country is more family-welcoming than most people expect. Outdoor lawns, food trucks, juice flights for kids — here's where to actually take the family.

The North Fork's working-farm vibe means most tasting rooms have ample outdoor space and a relaxed attitude toward families. The reliable picks have lawns to run on, a food truck or kitchen on-site, and bathrooms that aren't a hike across a vineyard.

Martha Clara Vineyards (now Suhru) has historically been the family default — large grounds, livestock, and weekend events. Macari Vineyards, Pellegrini, and Lieb all have outdoor seating big enough for a stroller and tolerate kids playing on the lawn. Pindar Vineyards runs grape-juice flights for kids and weekend music.

A few honest notes: bring activities, plan to spend less than 90 minutes per stop, and avoid the smaller, more design-forward Hamptons rooms (Wölffer included) where kids feel out of place. Pack snacks — the food trucks rotate and aren't always there midweek.
