North Fork Table & Inn

Six-suite inn above a James Beard-recognized restaurant in Southold — the most refined stay-and-dine combination on the North Fork.

Housed in a late 18th-century farmhouse, North Fork Table & Inn pairs six suites with one of Long Island's best restaurants. Rooms include fireplaces, soaking tubs, and a farm-fresh breakfast brought to your door. The kitchen, founded by alums of Gramercy Tavern and Gotham Bar & Grill, leans hyper-local; reservations for non-guests are notoriously hard, so booking the inn is the surest way in.

Rooms and layout

The inn has four boutique rooms — down from the six sometimes cited elsewhere — on the second floor of the historic building, renovated in 2021 with design by Thomas Juul-Hansen and curated by chef John Fraser. Room categories are Premium King and Premium Queen, each with down pillows and Frette linens, Malin+Goetz amenities, a Nespresso machine, heated bathroom floors, and air conditioning.

Rates and packages

A published "One-Night Getaway" package bundles one night's stay, a $300 dining credit and breakfast for $600–$700 (weeknight/weekend) off-peak or $700–$800 in peak season 1; a-la-carte room-only rates aren't posted publicly and require emailing the inn directly.

Restaurant hours

The on-site restaurant serves Thursday through Saturday, 5–9pm, and Sunday 5–8pm — it's closed Monday through Wednesday, which matters for anyone planning a stay around a specific dinner date.

Who's behind the kitchen

The restaurant is led by chef and restaurateur John Fraser, whose earlier restaurant Dovetail held a Michelin star for eight consecutive years and earned three stars from the New York Times, and who also runs NIX, which received a Michelin star and two stars from the Times. Fraser founded JF Restaurants, the hospitality group behind the inn, in 2007. The wine list is overseen by beverage director Amy Racine and, per the inn's own site, features one of the more extensive selections of North Fork wines alongside global bottles; Carlton Halaby serves as chef de cuisine and Sofia Schlieben as JF Restaurants' corporate pastry chef.
