Tapestry House

Boutique inn on Front Street in walkable downtown Greenport, blocks from the harbor, the carousel and Main Street tasting rooms.

Tapestry House is a small boutique inn on Front Street in Greenport's walkable village core. Rooms are individually styled with a relaxed coastal sensibility — soft palettes, original art, comfortable beds — and the location puts the harbor, Mitchell Park, the carousel and Greenport's restaurants all within an easy stroll. A quieter, more personal option than the larger Harborfront Inn, and a short drive to Sparkling Pointe, Kontokosta and Croteaux.

History and former name

Tapestry House was built in 1908 for New York State Assemblyman John Bartlett and operated for decades as the Bartlett House Inn — the same building later served as a boarding house for mariners and, from the early 1960s, a convent for the Sisters of Charity, before becoming a bed & breakfast around 1982. Joan and Nick Murray acquired the property at the start of 2015 and renamed it Tapestry House, renovating the common areas, the 75-foot wraparound porch, and several of the ten guest rooms. 1

The inn has nine to ten individually decorated guest rooms across two tiers. Standard Queen rooms run $369–$389 per night (Guest Room 1: $379, Guest Room 6: $389, Guest Room 10: $369); Superior Queen rooms, which add a larger bathroom and in one case a soaking tub, run $409–$419.
