The Maidstone
Scandinavian-styled historic inn on East Hampton's Main Street, walkable to shops, restaurants and the village green.
The Maidstone reimagines an 1840s village inn with bold Scandinavian design across 19 rooms and cottages, each individually styled with a Nordic literary theme. Steps from East Hampton's Main Street, the village green and the boutiques on Newtown Lane, with the on-site Living Room restaurant for breakfast and dinner. A 15-minute drive to Wölffer Estate in Sagaponack — one of the most walkable luxury bases on the South Fork.

Ownership and history
The Maidstone describes itself as a boutique hotel within East Hampton's historic district that has operated for more than 150 years. In summer 2024 it reopened under LDV Hospitality as "LDV at The Maidstone," a rebrand from its earlier Scandinavian-themed concept.
Room categories
The hotel's navigation lists four accommodation tiers: Standard Rooms, Junior Suites, Suites and a Cottage Collection.
Restaurant
The on-site restaurant is now run by Chef Jorge Espinoza (previously of Scarpetta) and serves Aperitivo, lunch, brunch and dinner year-round, with an Italian-leaning menu — a change from the hotel's prior operator and worth noting for anyone expecting the older concept.
Location and positioning
The hotel's own site markets its location as conveniently in the center of East Hampton village, describing walkable access to some of the East Coast's beaches, luxury shopping and the local culinary scene, and it positions the overall concept — hotel and restaurant together — as bringing "la dolce vita" to the East End under LDV Hospitality's stewardship.
Rooms and beach gear
The 19 refreshed accommodations span guest rooms, suites and private cottages in a palette inspired by the local coastline. Listed in-room amenities include Santa Maria Novella bath products, Frette linens, GHD styling tools and STKT yoga mats on request, and the hotel lends complimentary beach umbrellas, chairs, bags and coolers for days on the sand.
