18 Bay
Chef Adam Kopels and Elizabeth Ronzetti's beloved Northern Italian tasting-menu restaurant — relocated from Shelter Island to Jamesport on the North Fork.
Originally a tiny destination on Shelter Island, 18 Bay is now in a farmhouse-style room on Manor Lane in Jamesport. Service is intimate (a few tables, one seating) and the menu is a fixed multi-course Northern Italian feast — handmade pasta, house-cured salumi, seasonal vegetables — with a thoughtfully curated wine pairing. One of the most celebrated dining experiences on the East End.

The tasting menu
The current tasting menu, posted on the restaurant's own site, runs $145 per person and moves through an antipasti course (Manhattan clam chowder, grilled quail with beach plums, fluke crudo, eggplant sformato), a hand-made pumpkin raviolo, a choice of pan-roasted tautog or grilled NY strip, and a Basque-style cheesecake for dessert. The site notes vegetarian options are available on request and that produce comes from a named list of local farms, including Early Girl Farm, Sang Lee Farm and Wickham's fruit.
A la carte pricing
18 Bay also runs an a la carte menu alongside the tasting format. Posted prices include broiled wild oysters $18, beef tartare $26, little neck clams with chorizo $24, fettuccine verde with oysters and guanciale $34, lamb two ways $48, the seafood stew $46 and grilled prime filet mignon at $58/$78 depending on cut.
Wine policy and hours
The wine list is described on the site as boutique and covering local, domestic and international bottles; outside wine is limited to two bottles for special occasions at $75 corkage per bottle, and bottles already on the list can't be brought in. Current posted hours are Thursday and Monday 5–8pm, Friday and Saturday 5–9pm, and Sunday 5–8pm, with reservations taken by phone or on Resy.
The chefs and the restaurant's history
18 Bay is owned and run by chefs Elizabeth Ronzetti and Adam Kopels, who describe it on their own site as fresh, locally focused and Italian-inspired, with an organic, accommodating approach built around a four-course chef's menu that reflects the local markets. The name dates back to the restaurant's first home at 18 Bayville Avenue in Bayville, which the couple opened in 2005; the restaurant later operated on Shelter Island before settling into its current, permanent home in the historic Dimon Estate at the Jamesport Manor Inn.
