Noah's

Small-plates seafood bar on Front Street — local oysters, raw bar and creative shareables, paired with a tight Long Island-leaning wine list.

Chef Noah Schwartz's Front Street restaurant has been one of Greenport's reservation-essentials since 2010. The menu is built for sharing — raw bar, crudos, charcuterie and seasonal small plates with a serious focus on local oysters and North Fork wines by the glass. The dining room is intimate (count on a wait at the bar even with a reservation), and the kitchen consistently turns out some of the most thoughtful seafood cooking in the village. A logical first or last dinner if you're staying at Harborfront Inn, Sound View or Hotel Moraine.

Who runs the kitchen

Noah's was opened in 2010 by chef Noah Schwartz, a New England Culinary Institute alumnus who worked in Sonoma before returning east, and his wife Sunita Schwartz, a certified sommelier who runs the wine program and dining room. 2 The two met while Schwartz was working in Sonoma wine country, which is part of why the restaurant pairs a seafood-forward menu with a wine list built around Long Island producers.

Current hours

As listed on the restaurant's own site, Noah's is closed Wednesdays; it opens at 5pm Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, and at 12pm Friday through Sunday, all running to 9pm. Weekend brunch runs Saturday and Sunday from 12 to 3pm, with happy hour at the bar on weekdays 5–7pm and weekends 4–6pm. 1

Sourcing and recognition

The restaurant names its suppliers directly on its site — Latham's, Satur Farms, Bhavana, Orient Organics, RGNY Wines and Crescent Duck Farms among them — as part of a stated commitment to seasonal, locally sourced menus. 1 Schwartz has been recognized by the James Beard Foundation and Best Chefs America, and is a partner with the Slow Food East End chapter. 2

Private events

The restaurant can seat up to 50 in a private room or be booked in full for up to 200 guests, and the team also caters off-site events across the North Fork's wine country. 1
