Touch of Venice

Long-standing Cutchogue Italian restaurant with a deep wine list and outdoor patio — a North Fork classic for pasta and red sauce.

A staple of the Cutchogue dining scene for decades, Touch of Venice serves traditional Italian — handmade pastas, parm, fresh fish, brick-oven pizza — across a large indoor dining room and a popular seasonal patio overlooking Peconic Bay. The wine list balances Italian imports with North Fork producers, and the room is built for groups: bachelorette parties, family reunions and wine-tour vans fit easily. Reliable, generous portions, and one of the few full-service Italian rooms open year-round on the eastern North Fork.

Hours and format

Touch of Venice serves dinner Tuesday through Sunday; it's closed Mondays 1. The dining room is white-tablecloth Italian with banquettes and booths seating two to ten, plus a full bar that offers complete dinner service for solo diners or walk-ins 1.

Early bird and live music

The wine list

The restaurant's wine cellar has been recognized with Wine Spectator's Award of Excellence, and the list is built around Italian and local Long Island bottles rather than an international spread 1.

Private events

Two adjoining private rooms can hold up to 78 people combined, which makes the restaurant a regular venue for family parties and holiday gatherings on top of its regular dinner service 1.

History and family ownership

Touch of Venice has been family owned and operated by the Pennacchia family since 1988, when it first opened as an intimate Italian restaurant on the Mattituck Inlet — the water-side setting that inspired the "Touch of Venice" name 2. The restaurant relocated to its current roadside spot on Main Road in Cutchogue in 2011, where it has now operated for more than a decade 2.

Sourcing and the bar

The kitchen sources from several North Fork farms alongside imported Italian ingredients, and the wine list has earned Wine Spectator's Award of Excellence eight years running 2. The restaurant also keeps a 20-seat bar for happy hour and a seasonal outdoor patio open spring through fall 2.
