LI Wine Guide
The independent guide to Long Island wine country
LI Wine Guide is an independent editorial guide to Long Island wine country — the North Fork and the Hamptons, their producers, tasting rooms, restaurants and places to stay. It is written for visitors who want the real shape of a trip rather than a press release.
What this site is
A regional wine and travel guide covering the Long Island AVA and its two sub-appellations. We publish long-form journal reporting on producers, grapes and vintages; practical trip-planning guides; and directories of the wineries, restaurants and hotels that visitors actually use. Everything is written and edited by people who spend time on the East End, not aggregated from other listings sites.
Why it exists
Long Island wine is chronically miscovered. Most of what visitors find online is either promotional copy from the properties themselves or thin listicles written by people who have never driven Route 25 on a Saturday in October. The gap we try to fill is unglamorous and specific: what the tasting room is actually like, how long the drive really takes, whether the wine justifies the trip, and what to do when it rains.
How we work
Our reporting standards, sourcing rules and review cadence are set out in full on the editorial standards page. In short: we visit, we name what we tasted, we date what we verify, and we distinguish between first-hand observation and information supplied by a business. Details that change — hours, fees, reservation policies — always link out to the operator's own page rather than being frozen here.
How it is funded
LI Wine Guide is funded by affiliate commissions on some outbound booking and retail links, and may carry display advertising. Neither buys editorial coverage, placement or a favourable assessment. The full arrangement, including which link types can earn a commission, is described on the affiliate disclosure page.
Corrections and contact
We publish a corrections policy and act on error reports. If something here is wrong, out of date or unfair — or if you run a property and want to submit an update — use the contact page. Winery, restaurant and hotel operators can also submit changes directly from their own listing pages.
The guide is written and edited by Hollis Cooper.
