LI Wine Guide earns money from some of the links on this site. This page explains exactly which ones, what we receive, and what that money cannot buy.

The short version

Some outbound links here are affiliate links. If you click one and then book a hotel, reserve a tour, or buy a bottle, we may receive a commission from the merchant. You pay the same price either way. No producer, restaurant, hotel or retailer can buy editorial coverage, inclusion in a roundup, or a better position in one.

Which links can earn a commission

- Hotel and lodging bookings made through booking platforms or property partners.

- Tours, tastings and experiences booked through activity platforms.

- Restaurant reservations placed through reservation platforms.

- Wine and retail purchases made at online retailers we link to.

Links to a winery's own website, to public information, and to other pages on this site are not affiliate links. Where a commercial relationship exists on a page that also carries editorial assessment, it is disclosed on that page.

What the money does not affect

Commissions are paid by merchants after the fact and are not negotiated in exchange for coverage. We do not accept payment for inclusion, for a rank position, or for a favourable review; we do not remove critical coverage at a partner's request; and we do not let commission rates decide which properties appear or in what order. The criteria used in rankings are published with the ranking, as required by our editorial standards.

Advertising

This site may also display advertising served by third-party ad networks, including Google. Advertising is separated from editorial content and does not influence what we cover. Amazon and other programmes

Where we participate in retail affiliate programmes, we comply with each programme's disclosure requirements, including any operating-agreement language those programmes require.
